The Sixth Sense

1. If you have a 8 free minutes at some point during the rest of your life, please see the next generation of UIs that leverages meta-information regardless of your location/environment/items you are engaging in the real-world (think Minority Report). Nicknamed the “Sixth Sense” and from the MIT Media Lab, it was the darling of TED last month. Insightful!

2. IPv4 and IPv6. As of 1980, most network engineering experts knew there would eventually be a shortage of IP addresses. We now see that horizon in 2 to 3 years. IPv4 is the current de-facto internet standard and protocol essential to access and communicate via the internet. IPv6 will resolve this IP address shortage, but there are roadblocks. Introducing HBS Professor Edelman who suggests creating a market for holders of previously assigned but unused addresses to sell or otherwise transfer them to new owners. Remember missing out on those few domain-sitters who made a cool $Mil by holding onto highly regarded domains? ...if only IP address defined a brand and not frivolous attributes like The Title or Product/Service....

3. Bernanke thinks its opposite day. One Salient Oversight provided their thoughts on Ben Bernanke's 60 Minutes proclamation that 'the recession will end in 2009' and clearly stated what many think:

Given that in 2005 Bernanke said there was no housing bubble and in 2007 he said that any damage from the housing bubble would be contained, can we therefore trust in Bernanke's predictions?

I suppose we could use it as a negative indicator and conclude beyond reasonable doubt that the recession WON'T end this year?

The only option I see is for Bernanke to jump or for someone to push him.
